RUSTING METAL HOOD :(

its been a long time not much of posts and topics are comin up recently...
every ones seem to be very busy i guess..
even i couldn't contribute much cause of my exams sorry bout that..
well.... my big HI to all....
ive recently noticed that the metal hood of my tank is getting rusted due to moisture and humidity may be..
so i was just wondering to put some anti rust paint may be (iron oxide) or something which is used to stop the rusting of iron objects
or is ther an other way to handle this..
has anyone come across this?

get and acrylic hood which would never rust n loos much elegant

Also installing an exhaust fan would avoid accumulation of moisture and eventually prevent the hood from rusting.
